Privacy Policy

Effective 16 October 2026

In short: Gloomhold works fully offline and your progress is saved on your device. Online play (leaderboards, clans, clan war) is optional and only for players 13 and over. Online, you are an anonymous account with a generated name, and there is no free text anywhere: chat is a fixed list of phrases. The only ads are ones you choose to watch. We never sell your data.

This policy explains how the Gloomhold app (package uk.co.sixpaths.gloomhold), made by Six Paths Software Ltd ("we", "us"), handles information.

What's stored on your device

So the game can pick up where you left off, it saves your progress (class, gear, pets, fort, mine and map progress, currencies and settings) in the app's private storage on your device. This stays on your device unless you use online play, and then only the parts described below are uploaded.

Age check

The first time you open a social screen the app asks for your month and year of birth. We use it once to decide whether you are 13 or over, and we keep only the answer, "13 or over", never the date you entered. The check relies on what you tell us. If you are under 13 you can play offline only: the app never contacts our servers for online play on your behalf.

Online play (optional, 13 and over)

Online play is off until you choose to use it. If you do, we create an anonymous account for you using our service provider Supabase, which hosts our database and sign-in in London. It holds:

DataWhyHow long
An anonymous account id, and the age band "13 or over"To run your online profile and keep online features to 13+Until you delete the account
A generated player name (picked from word lists) and avatarLeaderboards and player cardsUntil deletion
A snapshot of your hero: class, level, power, furthest stage, equipped gear and pets, and this and last week's bestLeaderboards, player cards and clan matchingUntil deletion; weekly results are replaced each week
Clan data: membership, role, join requests, mutes (24 hours at most), daily war counters and points, claimed war rewardsClans and the weekly clan warUntil you leave or delete; finished war results stay without your id
Clan chat: the phrase chosen, the emote, the time and the senderClan chatThe newest 200 messages per clan; if you delete your account your messages stay, with you removed as sender
Players you block, and reports you make (chosen from fixed reasons)Safety and moderationDeleted with your account. Reports about you are kept for moderation without personal data.

There is no free text anywhere. Names, clan names, chat, announcements and reports are all picked from fixed lists, so nobody can type a message to you or about you. Other players can see your generated name and the hero snapshot on your player card.

We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except Supabase, which processes it on our behalf.

Ads

Gloomhold has no banner or pop-up ads. The only ads are rewarded ones that play when you choose to watch one for a reward. We show them using Google AdMob. When an ad is requested, Google and the advertisers it works with may receive information from your device, such as your IP address, device details and advertising ID, and may use cookies or similar technology. Google is responsible for that information; see Google's advertising policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

Purchases (optional)

Gloomhold offers optional purchases such as gems, chests and memberships. You pay through Google Play, so we never see your name or payment details. To grant and restore purchases we use RevenueCat, which checks purchases with the store on our behalf. It receives a random identifier, the store's record of your purchase and basic technical details (app version, operating system, country and language), plus your IP address as any internet service does, and handles them under its privacy policy. RevenueCat is based in the United States, so this information may be processed there under safeguards that UK data protection law requires. We keep purchase records for as long as accounting law requires, up to 6 years.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your real name, email address, location, contacts, photos, microphone audio or files. Gloomhold does not use your camera, microphone, location or contacts.

Deleting your data

The full steps are on our delete your account page.

  • On your device: uninstall the app or clear its storage.
  • Your online account: in the app, go to Settings > Online > Delete online account. It deletes your account and the online data above straight away. Your game progress on the device is left as it is.
  • Without the app: email and we will do it for you.

Who's responsible, and why

Six Paths Software Ltd, United Kingdom, is the data controller for the online-play and purchase information described above. We use online-play information to provide the features you chose to use, and purchase information to provide and restore what you bought. We also have a legitimate interest in keeping online play safe, which is why we keep an age band and handle blocks and reports. Ad information is handled by Google as described under Ads.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct, delete or restrict it, to move it, and to object to how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app under Settings > Online; for anything else email . If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Online features are only for players who say they are 13 or over. Players under 13 can play offline only. If you think a child under 13 has used online play, email us and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the date at the top, and show material changes in the app.
